Getting Your Gator Pass

Gator Pass is now available on the Clipper App!

Students who want to have their Gator Pass on their mobile device will need to follow one of the procedures below to activate their Gator Pass benefits:

If you don't already have a Clipper card of your own, you can either...

  • Purchase a physical Clipper card in person at a Muni/BART station OR
  • Create a digital card and add it to your mobile wallet through the Clipper App.
  1. Download the Clipper App on your mobile device and create an account if you do not already have one.
  2. Create a new digital Clipper card by selecting the "+" icon at the top left of the "Cards" section. *The Clipper App requires you to load a minimum cash value of $1 to create a digital card.*
  3.  After creating your new digital Clipper card, select “Add to Apple Wallet/Google Pay” and continue to follow the prompts to complete this process.

 

If you already have a Clipper card OR after you've acquired a new Clipper card, submit your Clipper card number into the Student Clipper Portal (click here). This will let us know which specific Clipper card to upload the Gator Pass to. *Only one Clipper card may be active with the Gator Pass.*

There is now a grace period to access the Gator Pass benefits starting from the first day of the Fall/Spring semester until the tuition payment deadline, so students will be able to access the free transit benefits up until then, even if they have not yet paid their tuition fees.

In order to keep the Gator Pass benefits throughout the entire semester, please make sure to pay the mandatory campus fees in your Fall/Spring tuition on time, whether that is out of pocket or by financial aid disbursement. Otherwise, the Gator Pass will deactivate after the tuition deadline until those fees are covered.

You can register your card on the Clipper App to help keep track of when your Gator Pass is active! Once you see "BayPass" displayed under your card on the app, that means your Gator Pass has been loaded and is ready to use!

*Converting your plastic Clipper Card to a digital card will deactivate the physical card for transit use. This process is not reversible once performed.*

Apple users:

  1. Download the Clipper App on your mobile device, create an account and register your Clipper card to the account if you haven't already done so.
  2. Under the card you want to transfer, select "Manage Card". Select "Convert Clipper to Your Phone" and continue to follow the prompts to transfer your physical Clipper card onto your mobile wallet. Click here to view detailed instructions from Clipper.

Android users:

  1. Download the Clipper App on your mobile device, create an account and register your Clipper card to the account if you haven't already done so.
  2. In the Clipper App, select the "+" icon at the top left of the "Cards" section. Select “Register Plastic Card” and continue to follow the prompts to transfer your
